Privacy Statement

REV. MAY 20, 2026

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Chicago Precision Honing (chicagohoningservices.com) takes the handling of personal information seriously. This statement describes what is collected when a quote request or contact form is submitted, how that information is used, and what choices are available.

1. Data Collected

The site collects the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers submitted by the visitor — name, company, email address, phone number, ZIP / postal code, and free-text project details voluntarily entered into the quote-request form.
  • Inferred technical data — IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, and pages visited, collected through standard server-side logging.
  • Cookies and analytics — a small number of first-party cookies are used to measure aggregate site traffic and to populate the quote form. No tracking cookies are sold or shared with advertising networks.

2. How Data Is Used

  • To respond to the specific quote request submitted, including routing the request to an accredited specialty shop with the matching capability envelope.
  • To follow up by phone, text, or email regarding the part, tolerance, or quantity submitted.
  • To improve the site, fix bugs, and measure aggregate traffic patterns.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations, respond to subpoenas, or protect against fraud.

3. Who Data Is Shared With

Quote-request data is shared with the accredited specialty shop selected to fulfill the request — without that share, the work cannot be quoted. The receiving shop is contractually required to use the data only to respond to the request and not to repurpose, resell, or onward-share it. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics data may be shared with the analytics provider used to measure site traffic. Chicago Precision Honing does not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

Quote-request data is retained for as long as the business relationship is active and for a reasonable follow-up window thereafter (typically up to 24 months). Aggregate analytics data may be retained for longer in de-identified form. Specific records may be retained longer where required by law.

5. Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Quote-request submissions are transmitted to the backend over TLS. Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No internet transmission is ever fully secure; the visitor's submission is on the visitor's own responsibility.

6. Your Rights

Visitors may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by Chicago Precision Honing by emailing ron@chicagohoningservices.com. Requests are honored within a reasonable timeframe and subject to identity verification.

7. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information held by the business, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Chicago Precision Honing does not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email ron@chicagohoningservices.com.

8. Other U.S. State Laws

Residents of states with comparable privacy statutes — including Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), and others as they take effect — have rights similar to the California rights described above. Requests are processed through the same channel: ron@chicagohoningservices.com.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is directed at business buyers procuring industrial honing services. It is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any such collection that comes to Chicago Precision Honing's attention is deleted promptly.

10. International Visitors

Data submitted through this site is processed in the United States. Visitors outside the U.S. should be aware that their information will be transferred to and held in the U.S., where privacy protections may differ from those in the visitor's own jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This Statement

This Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised statement.
